Representative of the mission of San Francisco State University, Runway 2021 Virtuality is collaborative and engaged with many across our campus community. Our students in the Apparel Design & Merchandising major within the Family, Interiors, Nutrition & Apparel department created this show experience from concept to final production. Our junior and senior Apparel Design students traditionally created over 120 looks and lines that would grace the Runway.

Due to this pandemic of historic proportions, our faculty and students had to adapt and find a way to create their designs and present them to you.

The ADM faculty would like to thank our graduating seniors for their patience, optimism and creativity. It has been a challenging time for designers working remotely on their collections and for merchandising students collaborating remotely on designing and producing this website. We acknowledge the effort of all our Apparel & Design students and a special thank you to those whose commitment was exceptional.

Our format is digital. In our website, you will see the creative and conceptual material as well as the finished collections designed by our graduating senior class. You will also see the conceptual ideas and collaboration that junior designers experienced with their upcycle project.

We extend a special thanks to all our SFSU support community. We thank you, our audience for your support. Please dim the lights, start the music, and enjoy virtual RUNWAY 2021: VIRTUALITY!

Support our students!

Our students are especially vulnerable and are significantly feeling the economic impact of this historic pandemic. Your donation support apparel design and merchandising students through funding fabrics, supplies, equipment, and our ongoing Disability Design Project now in its 4th year.

Thank you to our generous sponsors and donors for investing in the dynamic work of SF State’s fashion industry leaders of tomorrow. We thank you for your donation and we eagerly look forward to seeing you in person at Runway 2022! Please contact Dr. Dorie regarding questions and requests for information.
