What made you want to be a fashion designer?
As a kid because my family and I would always go to Las Vegas on vacation, which made me love the movie Rush Hour 2 because it took place in Las Vegas. One scene in particular, Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan were running from the bad guys so they had to “mack out” or look rich as a disguise. They went to the Versace store at the Forum to get some new ensembles so they wouldn't look like detectives.
My next time in Vegas I wanted to visit the places they shot the movie, so we went to the Versace store at the Forum, and I remember seeing the clothes and being in awe because they were clothes that I had never seen before. At that moment I knew I wanted to create something that would give me or anyone else that same feeling I felt when I first laid eyes on those clothes.
Who is your favorite designer? Who do you look up to in the fashion industry?
My favorite designer of all time would be Gianni Versace and Donatella Versace, because the whole empire they built was around their family and it grew worldwide. Versace has that stardust everyone recognizes around the world. I own a few pieces from Versace and the Versace for H&M collection, and whenever you put on the clothes, they give you some sort of magic power, confidence, grace and that sparkle which no other clothes can give you.
