My collection concept is inspired by the longing to travel the world post-COVID. I remember after just a few months of quarantine I was constantly listening to friends say “I can’t wait to finally travel when this is all over”. I created a winter travel collection that caters to the soon-to-be passenger waiting for their flight to board and keeps them warm, and comfortable regardless of the weather at their final destination.
Did you have a turning point/moment when you knew you wanted to work in the fashion industry?
The turning point that made me jump into design 2 years ago was when I injured my shoulder playing baseball during my freshman year of college and chose to refocus on art and design.
What is the biggest takeaway from your time as an ADM major?
My biggest takeaway from being an ADM Design Major is something I was never taught, but rather something I realized through my own experiences. It's that successful fashion is nothing but a connector, or translator, into what really matters. The environment matters, people matter, our emotions matter. When designed right, clothes can positively impact them all.
