Kelly Rivera

Senior Collection

Recently, I went to the palace of fine arts since my collection is on architecture. I used a Canon camera to take photos of each building both inside and outside. The use of straight lines and curve lines was my inspiration because my eyes follow the different direction it goes and uses those elements to create the collection. With those features, I created digital prints on software called procreate to create repetitive geometric shapes.

What is your biggest takeaway from your time as an ADM major?

Draping and fittings were the most takeaways from my time as an ADM major because I ensured the garments fit well on the body and avoid any tightness or puckering.

What are you personally inspired by?

I’m personally inspired by the idea of exploring a whole new world, full of imaginations and fairytale-like creatures along the adventure.

What made you want to be a fashion designer?

Watching award shows like the Golden Globes and the Oscars made me want to be a fashion designer. I was quickly fascinated by different actresses wearing full-length gowns to have classic but both glamorous and eye-catching moments.
